Data sheet Analog-digital conversion model
Description
Based on a simple electrical signal, the student assesses the impact of 2 parameters that influence the conversion: the sampling frequency and the resolution.
A bar graph at the front of the device displays the binary word corresponding to the digitised information. Subsequently, the method is applied in a more practical manner to the sound.
An input jack allows a sound to be directly recorded (via a microphone or a music player). This sound can then be reproduced on a loudspeaker via a digital analogue conversion and listened to several times with different conversion parameters. In this way, it is possible to make the link with music compression formats like MP3.
